Common questions
Download the on-device AI model
The first time you open the app, RoxLab can download one on-device AI model — about 440 MB. You can also install it later in Settings → Offline AI. You need the internet for that download once. There are no separate language packs in this app.
Using translation offline
After the on-device model is installed, supported translations continue on your iPhone — even with Wi-Fi and cellular off. Until the model is ready, iOS 18 or later can use Apple on-device Translation. Apple may ask to download a language pack with your permission.
Purchases and RoxLab Translate Pro
Pro is sold through the App Store as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Apple processes the payment. If a purchase does not appear, use Restore Purchases in the app. Translation does not require a RoxLab account.
Camera and voice
Camera, voice, and document translation are Pro features. Camera text detection and speech recognition are designed to run on your iPhone. If on-device speech is unavailable, type or paste your text instead. Check camera, microphone, and speech recognition access in iPhone Settings if a feature is blocked.
Privacy
Translation text is not sent to a cloud translation service. Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@roxlabhq.com.
